PostgreSQL files
- ~/Applications/PostgreSQL 8.4
- /Library/PostgreSQL/8.4/data
- /Library/PostgreSQL/8.4/data/pg_log
The /Library/PostgreSQL/8.4/data folder permissions are set to only allow access to the 'postgres' user.
To access or edit certain files (such as PostgreSQL config or log files) you need to temporarily give Read & Write permission to 'everyone'. Click here for information.
If you change permissions for the PostgreSQL 'data' folder you must change them back after you make changes (edit config files or whatever) in order to be able to use PostgreSQL.
