some little questions

Postby trixilw » Fri Dec 16, 2011 8:57 pm

Hi again!

I have some little questions. A bunch of different things, but it's more simple to post all together.

First of all, my Statistics Tabs is not working anymore. With the first beta was ok, but now all I see is loading, loading, loading. I smoked a cigarette, drank a coffee, but nothing. I'am testing with 1500 sng tourneys imported from the original hand histories.
The same thing I am encountering when I am trying to purge a tournament. Nothing appears, only Loading...

Second is my question: what is difference between the Basic and Advanced tabs in the reports. Its ok that in one I can see more stats that in the other, but all is customizable so I am not understanding the function of the two tabs. But I know that you putted there for a very good purpose, because You made an excellent application. What was that purpose? :D

And for last, here are my little considerations:
- Now, to start to replay a whole tournament from the beginning, I must select a tournament, enter in it, and then click with right button to start replay. Can You maybe add a replay option to the context-menu of the tournament?
- I don't know if it's a good idea, but it's possible to add some shortcuts on the empty top space of the replayer? For example shortcut for the Hand Detail window, or maybe shortcuts for exporting the hand-history in plain-text format, 2+2 format or to copy the original hand history to work with it in another applications.
- The last two things is about the new ICM features, which can be an awesome thing. My question, if can You please add to the replayer the ICM-related pot-odds and the Hero's actual ICM equity? Or maybe the equity of all players? :P The ICM-equity is like, I have 15% of equity if I win I will have 23%, if I lose, I am out, so my ICM odds is 15-to-23. I know, that it's can be difficult or not so important. But I am patient :)

And one more time: the software is excellent, thanks for all your work!

Can you please send us some sample tournaments for us to evaluate? We can look into this for you.

basic is just the core stats you need for most evaluation, advanced is everything under the sink - all the minuta that advanced players like to see. The goal was to make the interface as clean as possible, and not scary.

Replay is for hands, therefore the replayer is only available when a report lists hands. You can however right-click in the report and select Replay All Hands in Report to replay an entire tournament - problem solved!

Click the options menu on the top right hand side, everything you are asking for is there. Currently the export of hands to text is only available when you select View Hand Details, but we are considering other options.

Although we do not present it in ratio format, we already met your request as shown in the bottom right of this screen capture. We have you covered!

Ah You are too fast. I must sleep, but you don't let :)

I am sending some original hand histories. Some of them are exported from PT3, but only about 10%.

basic is just the core stats you need for most evaluation, advanced is everything under the sink - all the minuta that advanced players like to see. The goal was to make the interface as clean as possible, and not scary.

It's good, so I will change the prefences only in one.

Click the options menu on the top right hand side, everything you are asking for is there. Currently the export of hands to text is only available when you select View Hand Details, but we are considering other options.

I now, everything is there, but that buttons can act like a shortcut.

It's very good, but you don't covered me totally :) My actual equity is there. It's ok. But it's only appears when I must call a push. If I am the first to act, I don't know my equity unless calculate it with the new calculator. On the other side the result equity is the my equity against a defined range. But I need to see my pot-odds without any range. The feature that I am talking about is like the Call Push button in the ICM Explorer application made by phzon (Douglas Zare). It writes the chip odds (like you in the replayer) and the $EV-odds too.

No buttons, they would interfere with replayer themes from third parties that are yet to come. Also keep in mind we need the table clean to export hands to YouTube - sorry!

I am not familiar with the application you describe, but I can confirm that you can calculate equity when you are first to act in the ICM replayer, you do not need to use the dedicated calculator, PokerTracker does it all for you. Also the pot odds are shown on the screen right above the dealer position in the default theme. There is s bug I just discovered in the ICM replayer which is not properly allocating equity for the opponent that I will bring to our developers thanks to my research for this thread, but this is unrelated to our conversation.

All my best....

I could not reproduce your issues over here, your stats show up in a fraction of a second - and all the tournaments include summaries which assure that we know the winners which is great. If this occurs again please quit out of PokerTracker and send us the PokerTracker4.log (File - Show Data Directory) for evaluation.

I am trying the re-import of the hands into a new database. However there is no log file in the directory and logging is enabled. It's normal? I enabled the hidden files but there is nothing.

I am talking about two more buttons on the top side of the replayer, where is the Options, the Note Editor and the Hand Marker. But if you say, this is the maximum quantity to maintain the design of the replayer, I understand.

More news (sorry) :P :

- I started to create a custom hand range model, but I don't finished and deleted it. Right after this I opened the custom ICM opponents model options and my deleted hand range model was there. Only disappeared after the restart of PokerTracker.

- I tried to import hh-s from an empty folder. I don't knew that was empty. The error message I received was "The import was cancelled". Maybe It can be very confusing, because if a player don't know that the folder is empty, don't will understand why the import was "cancelled".

Thanks for your comments - we'll check these things out.
Are you sure you're looking in the correct folder for the logs? They're not in the "install" folder under Program Files, they're in "C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\", which you can open via the File menu in PT4.

Ok I'm a blind idiot. I am sending the file.
So, there is nothing in the Statistics reports, only the Loading... text. But the problem is the same when I open the Results tab and try to list the results by date. All is slow. I don't know why.

And when I put the Roi% Adjusted stat in a tournament report, the report stops to show the results grouped by their respective tab, the tournaments are shown one by one, no matter in which tab I'm.

Did you add any aliases in this database? There was a problem with aliases in the first couple of betas.
Please try creating a new database and import your hands again and see if you still have problems?

The way that ROI is built means that it is calculated for each tournament so it will split up reports so show each tournament separately.
It should be possible to build a version which works for totals - I will discuss with the development team and see what we can do.
Thanks.
