I've been successful in adding aliases before. But since i primarily play euro games i decided to change *My Currency* to Euro. I removed all aliases to check on them individually but when I wanted to add aliases again i encountered this error:

I reverted to USD, restarted PT4 and reinstalled PT4. Nothing worked. What may have gone wrong?

Also, it takes soo long to convert between currencies. I was only working on 13k hands i think.

When did you add these aliases in the first place? There were issues with aliases in the first couple of betas so if they were added then you may have errors in your database, in which case you'd need to reimport. If the aliases were added in the last couple of betas that shouldn't apply, though.

Another possibility is that this is a database which wasn't properly updated - was this database created in v4.01.5 or earlier, and updated automatically when you ran v4.01.6 or later?

it was created with 4.01.8.

Anyway, i made a new database and reimported the hands, and now i can add aliases again. i haven't tried converting my currency again though.

No, it's not a new database.

Databases created in previous versions could have an error which prevents aliases being created. Can you add aliases in a new database?

I can try on a new one but I won't be able to export and re-import the DB that I use since I will lose all my notes.

Please do test at least so that we can make sure the problem is not related to your specific hands in some way.

It's not! I jsut got this error myself when I just today got accepted for the beta, dl'd the latest version, imported some hands, and tried to alias my party and stars names.
