Error adding iPoker Alias

Heya,

I just tried to add an iPoker alias to my main account. The import runs for a couple of seconds, then stops with an odd error message (see attachment). Rebuilding the database cache or a PT4 restart didn't help. Any suggestions?

Aliases should work OK in v4.01.8 Beta, but if you created your database in a previous version there could be problems. Please try creating a new database and importing a few hands from each site and see if you can create an alias then?

I'm using v4.01.8 and I didn't have to update to a new beta yet (or is there a silent auto updater?) I just added the hands from iPoker and my main PokerStars Account is already linked to my alt on PartyPoker without problems.

Hmm - that's odd then.
Please restart PT4 and attach the PokerTracker4.log file from C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\ (which you can access from the PT4 File menu) to a Support Ticket so that we can see what is going on.

It would still be useful to know if you encounter the same problem in a new database.
If you can reproduce the problem with a small number of hand history files please compress them and attach those to your ticket too so that we can try to reproduce it ourselves - that would make it much easier to identify and fix the problem.

Hey WhiteRider,

I just added the file to a ticket for the support team. Since this is a beta and we're supposed to help I also created a new database. I played some orbits on all three sites/networks and was able to attach both party and iPoker alias to my main account on Stars.

What would be the best way to solve the issue with the current database? Export all hands and then a reimport into the new one? Will I keep my notes this way?

You could try rebuilding the cache and see if that works - use the rebuild cache button on the Database --> Database Management window and let me know if that fixes things for you.

Nope, I already did this 'cause the error message looked somehow "cache related".

I just checked your ticket and I don't see anything there to suggest another solution so I think you'll need to import to your new database.
If you still have the original hand history files it will be best to import directly from those, but if your existing database was a conversion from a PT3 database for example then you will need to either export/import from PT4 or re-run the conversion and then import the histories from the hands played since the conversion.
PT4 moves hand history files it has imported to the Processed folder which you can find in folder opened by the menu File > Open User Data Folder.

Jep, I have the folder/hands saved into it. Will I need to do something else to keep my notes (+ the auto ones done by PT4)?
