Still having problems with running reports. (Slowness)

Postby Dutchraise72 » Fri Oct 12, 2012 4:50 pm

I still have problems running all reports in PT4. For example tournaments/basic/by date takes more then 10 minutes.

Code: Select all
2012/10/12 22:11:17.293 [81840]: [00000534][ptQueryCtrlBase] [RPT-Tournament-Player/Results-By-Month-Basic] Population took 287303 ms

Things like importing a pt3 database or importing poker hands and the HUD is running very smood now :D . But i am still waiting for a solution for ticket nr 122140 that i submitted on 23May when PT4 was still in the beta fase. I know that its still in investigation but i post this on the forum to find out how long it takes to get it solved and if more users experiencing the same problem.

I am really getting fad up to import all hands into PT3 and PT4. The latest reply is from 24th September and in that reply my laptop was to low on internal memory. I have 4GB internal memory which is max on my laptop. (On vista 32bits 3GB used by windows) and have no problem at all running PT3. So i expect to have the same performance with PT4 as i have now with PT3 on the same laptop with the same database. At the end my laptop does meet the minium specs to run PT4

maybe there are a few queries not optimized in PT4 as there where in the previous versions the tournament detection. But i am not a SQL guru and maybe someone as the pt4 forum user lumst can point the developers in the right direction again ;)

Have you added any stats to that report or are you getting these slowdowns with the default setup?

Do you have an open ticket with logs showing these results?

I am on the same boat as you Dutchraise72, very slow reports and my pc should be good enough to handle PT4 (SSD, 8GB, i5...) opened ticket #124542 some months ago but it looks as if it always gets stuck somewhere...

Both of these tickets are in the inbox of our head PostgreSQL developer. He has been away at a conference for the past week but he returns today and I expect you will both have responses reasonably soon.

I have heard that in the next beta release there will be across the board improvements in the amount of memory used for various things and this should help at least somewhat for everyone.

I can't wait. Any idea when this update will be released. Is it a week or a Month?
