Minimum Requirement: Intel Core 2 Duo (or AMD equivalent) processor with 3GB of RAM

Recommended: Modern quad-core processor with 4GB of RAM or greater. This includes the Intel Core 2 Quad and Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 processor lines (or their equivalent AMD processors).
Optimal: Intel Core i5 or i7 multi-core 64-bit processor with 8GB of RAM or greater.
Not Recommended: Intel Pentium 4, Atom or other low power processors such as ARM.

I suspect I cant have PT4 , can you confirm this ?

ATI Radeon™ HD 3800 Series GPU
Pentium(R) Dual-core CPU , with 2.00 GB RAM

It is possible it will run but it likely won't run that well and it is possible you may have problems.

That said, you can certainly download it and give the free trial a go and see how it works for you. We just can't guarantee a very smooth experience with that setup.

As incredible as it sounds, I run it on an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (single core) with 1.5 GB ram and PT4 runs as efficiently as PT3 did.

Tip: In case you have PostgreSQL 8.x installed, install Postgresql 9.0, there is a net gain in performance. This had a much bigger impact for me than the difference PT3/PT4.
Tip 2: PT4 may feels slower when you first import hands on a low end PC, this is due to the Note tracker making notes for all the hands ever played. Wait until it's finished before making any judgment.

Thanks for the encouragement Donkey1111 . I downloaded Postgresql 9.0, when I ran it

: error : You are trying to run a 64bit installer on a 32 bit machine, the progam will exit now.

Never got out the stalls.

Then use this installer - it's for 32 bit Windows.

Im trying the setup wizard and am coming on stuck with this password

Ive done this.

Scroll to the bottom of the document and in both places you see the word 'md5', replace it with 'trust'.
Save and exit.

Then go Start -> Programs -> PostgreSQL -> Reload Configurations

This will allow you to access the database without any password.

Ive restarted the wizard, still stuck for a password

That password should be whatever you put in when installing PostgreSQL. Since you just did the PostgreSQL installation, I would hope you can remember what you put in there? Try that password and see if it helps.

Ok, were talking 2009 here. I remember I did the password that was advised at the time. Like, PostgreSQL said " use this default password" , ....
