If you have a database in PostgreSQL 8.3 that you want to keep then you will need to stick with 8.3 (unless you have a database backup?)
Follow this guide to reinstall PostgreSQL 8.3.

Do you have a backup of your database? If you do, you can install our currently recommended version (9.0) and restore your database with that.
(If you don't have a backup, you should make them regularly, once you have things running again.)

Otherwise, I think if you uninstall 8.3 you'll be able to install using the normal installer.

If you continue to have problems installing please open a Support Ticket with a link to this thread and someone will work with you directly to get things sorted out.

If you have a backup of your database made in PT4 you can restore it using File > Restore.
If not, but you have your hand history files then you can import from those using Get Hands From Disk. (They will be in the Processed folder by default, which you can access using File > Open User Data Folder.)

If you have neither of those then you will need to install 8.3 again so that it can connect to your existing database.

the problem is postgre 8.3 isn't possible to find on postgre web site. The older version is 8.4 and doesn't want to install on a 64bits computer :(

8.3 is available at the bottom of this page. You will need to fully uninstall 8.3 before you can reinstall it, as described in the guide I linked.
