Hi.

I am super paranoid about PC security anyway. But i have just given my PC to a PC repairs shop and when i got it back i cant log into PT4 and i a getting this message.

I am freaking out as i have never had a problem with PT4 in this way. any help would be great.

Thank you!

That message implies that PostgreSQL is not running. Click Start, type services.msc and click on it when it appears. Do you see PostgreSQL in the list? If so can you start it?

Make sure the Secondary Logon service is running (in services.msc) and set to run automatically.

If that doesn't do it, easiest is to follow our uninstall/reinstall guide; just don't delete the Data folder. Do delete the Postgres service user though via the command prompt. You can find the guide (for a few different revisions) here -- just use the one that matches your version.

Follow the part of the reinstall guide called "Deleting the PostgreSQL Service Account" -- here's a direct link. Then any password you use will be accepted, but we recommend using our default -- dbpass.
