Database Housekeeping automation

Postby Zatoichi » Fri May 03, 2013 7:30 am

I would like to have dialog where I can select more than one housekeeping tasks to execute.

For example i check Cluster, Rebuild Cache and Vacuum & Analyze, click OK and go outside to drink beer. :)

These do not need to be done regularly, and Vacuum/Analyze are already included in the other options so you wouldn't need to do that one separately regardless.

I found Housekeeping very confusing. I still don't know when to do it and what to do. Now when I notice that HUD is slower I run all tasks but I know this is not necessary.

Is it possible to PT keep track of needed task and warn user? Something like "It past x days and y hands since you last time _____ . It is time to do it. Press OK."

These do not need to be done regularly. There is no harm from it, but little to no benefit, either.
