See all player aliases

Postby jadenls » Sun Sep 22, 2024 7:00 pm

I have about 500 players in a player report (all poker stars). I have set up individual aliases for a few of the players (to merge 'name' and 'name2' for example). I notice that if I create an alias for a player, and then delete the player, then create it again, the alias is still there. So the aliases must be stored somewhere. I would like to be able to manage all aliases at once. The reason is I believe I made a false alias for a player and not I can't track down which player I added that alias to. Is there any way to do this? Or another approach that could solve my problem: delete all aliases.

There is a custom report for this purpose in the Download Customizations section, uploaded by me.
https://www.pokertracker.com/custom/reports

Search for 'alias' and download the appropriate cash ($) or tournament (T) report.

Very helpful! That solves one of my problems. Now I have a second problem.

There is one player in my logs that seems to not be tracked. I assumed it might be an alias issue but it's not showing up in the aliases. I can even go to hands that this player was in and in the replayer they show no hud stats. I know that I should have many hands with this player name. When I uploads logs from a game this player has played, all of the other players at the table show up in my stats. I can't select the player name in the 'create new player' drop down. They don't have any weird characters in their name. Any idea how I might go about debugging this issue?

Have you ever purged all hands played by a main alias? This sounds like a known issue where if you purge all hands played by a main alias then any hands linked to secondary aliases cannot be accessed. The main alias disappears from the list so can't be selected and the aliased names are not shown and cannot be searched for. Unfortunately reimporting hands doesn't resolve this issue and the only workaround at this time is to import the hands into a new database.
