Opps in auto notes

Postby bodhisoma » Thu Mar 28, 2013 1:02 pm

What would be a graceful way of including opportunities in the auto notes?

For example, I've got a note that says "Raise Flop CBets with Draws." The note provides for how often it happened but now how often the opportunity arose.

Is this possible?

It's not possible now and even if we tried to include filters for it, in a lot of cases this won't be possible. Think about that note in question - if the player had a draw and a chance to raise but instead folded we never know his cards and so we can't know he had a chance to raise but didn't.

Ah, that makes perfect sense. Embarrassed I didn't realize it before posting.

Thanks kraada.

No problem. It's a very tricky thing - in this case you also can't even know if all raises were draws because some raises will end the hand! And knowing what percentage of raises were draws that eventually got to showdown tells you little to nothing about what percentage of raises were draws in the first place.

That said, there are cases where it is possible to do real opportunities so this may be something we consider eventually - but it would have to be part of a pretty big overhaul for the note system. Right now there's no place in the database to even store such a thing.
