custom notes

Postby ActionOnMe29 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 5:38 pm

Hi guys,

Could someone confirm that the following two custom notes (see images) are built correctly based on the notes?

Thank you in advance!

The position of the cutoff is 1, not 5. The button is 0, cutoff is 1, etc.
In the button vs cutoff note, since you want to specify that the player is on the button and 3Bet you should filter for active player position = 0 and 3Bet in the Player filter, and use an Opponent filter for the villain's actions: position 1 and open raised.
You'll need a similar change for the blinds vs MP note.

Hi White,

Please new image attached.
Are you saying that I always have to set "Active" player filter on the player that does the last aggresive action?

Thanks!

"Player" is the player who is going to get the note. If you're trying to set up a situation between "Player" and one specific opponent of his you can use "Opponent" -- so in this case if you wanted an opponent to raise first in from the CO you could set that up under Opponent with Position of Active Player Exactly 1 and Raise First In in the Opponent area, and then Position of Active Player Exactly 0 and 3Bet Preflop in "Player" to get what you want.

Hi kraada,

No, what I want is to save the note on the player from BT. I want to note the range hes 3Betting CO OR with, hence the Text Note I used.

Thanks!

Right - so in your case "Player" is the button (the player the note is being taken for) and "Opponent" is the cutoff.
Therefore:
- the Player filter is position 0 and 3Bet
- the Opponent filter is position 1 and open-raise.

Hi White,

Ok, just to confirm, are they both correct now? (see image)
Also I assume when I want to specify that Player 3Betted I should use filter "Raised Preflop any 2Bet" instead of "Raised Preflop any 3Bet" right?

Sorry for the hassle!

Your filters are the right way round now, but they're not quite right.

Firstly, since the Player makes a 3bet you need to filter for "any 3bet" not "any 2bet".

Also "Position of 3Bettor exactly 0" tests that the 3bet came from the button, but it doesn't test that that was the player we're taking the note on. i.e. This will be true for every player who was in the hand, not just the player who actually made the 3bet.
What you should filter for is "Player Position exactly 0" and "Any 3Bet". (You already did this right in the Opponent filter for the 2bet, so do the same in the Player filter for the 3bet.)

Hi White,

Tx for replying on a Sunday, you are great!

I think the Filter note "Raised Preflop any 3Bet" is quite confusing, isnt for you? We are raising a 2Bet not a 3Bet on this exact spot, thats what I used 2Bet instead of 3Bet.

What you are saying is that I need to remove "Position of 3Bettor" on both filters?

Also would you please explain what the "Position of 3Bettor" is used for? Should I always leave "Position of" set to "OFF" and use "Position of Selected" only? I thought I would need to set both of this filters to ON since sometimes when start playing with one of them the other gets turned ON automatically.

Thanks again!

I will pass on your concerns to the development team, but the filters refer to the actions the player in question makes which is what most people expect.

In NoteTracker you can filter for actions made by an opponent (using the Opponent filter), but in More Filters in reports you do not have that option. The "Position of 3Bettor" filter allows you to test the position of the 3Bettor when they weren't the active player.

Here you want to test that the active player was the 3Bettor, and that they were in a specific position, so it makes sense to use filters which refer to the active player.
The "Position of 3Bettor" filter will work, but you'll also need to specify the player's position and action, so it isn't needed.
