Hello,
i did a backup in PT3 on my old Macbook. Now i wanna restore it on the new one.
How will this work out?
I am using the trial at the moment but i will buy the PT4 soon ( Restore not possible in the trial version).

That should work fine - you'll want to restore in PT3 then in PT4 use the database conversion utility. PT4 cannot restore PT3 backups.

So i install PT3 on my new Macbook and Restore my old database, right?
Then install PT4 and...???
What is the database conversion utility.
Sorry for my bad english.

Yes, that's right.
When you first run PT4 the Setup Assistant will run and offer to convert your existing PT3 database(s).
You can also run the Setup Assistant manually from the Tools menu in PT4.
