i try to delete as much as i can

but do i have to rebuild the cache again for hours ?

Since the previous rebuild did not complete you will need to do it again and if PostgreSQL has more free space to work with it could be faster.

Thank you so much for your help and fast response!

Now i only got the problem to get my disk space free,is it possible to cut out folders of the database and replace them another time?

i need to review my last sessions but cant create enough free space at the moment

That's not possible unless you purge hands from the database but you will still need free space for PostgreSQL to complete the necessary housekeeping afterwards. If you want to review your most recent sessions you can also import those hands into a new database.

Go to this folder:

C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\x.y\data\pg_log

where x.y is your PostgreSQL version although you may have it installed in another location. If this folder is taking up space you can safely delete the contents of that folder otherwise you will need to find some space from elsewhere and programs like CCleaner can help with that. The only other options I can suggest would be to start a smaller database and then delete the original or move things to another drive/upgrade if possible.

Do not delete anything in the 'data' folder except the content of the subfolder I specified called 'pg_log' otherwise you could damage/delete your database. Go inside the 'data' folder and then the 'pg_logs' folder - this will just contain text files and these can be safely deleted if they are taking up a large amount of space.

If you still don't have enough free space then you can start a new database to import hands but the same rules will apply to that database meaning if it gets too big relative to your free space then PostgreSQL may not be able to maintain the database.
