Repositioning hud is super slow/laggy

Postby alexrjl » Sun Jan 14, 2024 6:21 pm

Pt4 version 4.17.12.1
M2 Pro, OS Ventura 13.2.1
Playing on pokerstars, non-zoom.

Setting huds is currently an absolute nightmare. Not only does dragging and dropping different panels supper from up to 5 seconds of lag, sometimes the panel then 'sticks' to the mouse after having been dragged, so when you move the mouse away the panel keeps moving. Trying to ctrl-drag when the layout is locked suffers from the same problem.

Same issue persists with 3 different huds (2 premium huds, one custom hud I made and uploaded from a file.

Hud works fine once it's positioned, though if you hide a panel under another panel (which is the intention for one of the spin n go huds I'm trying to set up, all of the hidden panels get randomly placed in the next game!

Please download the latest macOS build that addresses some issues for the HUD from here:

https://www.pokertracker.com/products/P ... 7.12.2.dmg

If the issue persists then turn on 'Enable Logging' in PokerTracker 4 via 'Configure -> Options' and then restart PokerTracker 4. Next reproduce this problem and then attach your support bundle to a Support Ticket. The support bundle is created via the 'File -> Create Support Bundle' menu option in PokerTracker 4.

FYI. This lag on repositioning HUD is still present in 4.17.13. There is also a flicker when HUD is refreshing that was not noticeable before. Switching my graphics quality from high to low for PT returned HUD to close to its former performance.

Never had this issue on MACs with versions prior to 4.17.12 and the memory leak in HUD release. Testing on an M2 MacBook Air with 8GB RAM.

There is obviously a regression in the code for the HUD on a MAC performance-wise.

What changes were made? Have you considered reverting the HUD code to what it was early in December? What are developers saying?

Unfortunately I don't know what specific changes were made to the code or what developers have said about this problem. If you are still having an issue with PokerTracker v4.17.3 then please open a Support Ticket with a support bundle attached where a support technician can follow with you:
