PT4(Mac) 4.08.2 "Unable to login to database..." what to do?

Opened PT4 ten minutes ago, greeted with the notice of a new version (4.08.2) that must be installed. Not thrilled as one of every few updates causes issues in getting it installed and working. No choice though, down load it and now I have a popup as attached. Sigh.... Where do we go from here? Poker seldom tilts me, stuff like this does though as I was happy-smappy before the update.

All seems well now. I did this from a previous issue another player had (8.4 is the version number, so change as needed in the two places):

sudo su postgres -c '/Library/PostgreSQL/8.4/bin/pg_ctl -D /Library/PostgreSQL/8.4/data/ restart'

If this was not the right thing to do, please let me know.

That looks as if it is just restarting the PostgreSQL service so is fine - a reboot would probably have had the same effect.

I rebooted a few times, but no luck. PostgreSQL appears to be the weak link in the entire PT operation, it has failed a few times since 2010 in my experience. Knocks a day out of my play as going without PT is like driving in the countryside without a map.

Make sure that you have the latest version in whatever PostgreSQL line you have - e.g. the latest version of 8.4 if that's what you're currently using.
