Problem with Database PostgreSQL

Postby vicenzo35 » Thu Aug 29, 2013 5:20 am

Hello everyone,

Firstly, i apologize for my bad english, i'm a french noob who is new on the poker tracker world ;) I just bougth a macbookPRO retina and purchase PT4.

like many persons, i have the same problem to enter on my database and consequently PT4. I've got this message:

UNable to login to database (postgres). Reason: could not connect to server: No such fole or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432.

I've tried to manually uninstall postgreSQL but i really did something wrong, i think :(

I use the topic on how How to Uninstall/Reinstall PostgreSQL (Mac)

I type command line instructions within the OS X Terminal, to determine the PostgreSQL Version Already Installed ( or if it was completely uninstalled)

I type /Library/PostgreSQL, on the terminal and it says to me: -bash: /Library/PostgreSQL,: No such file or directory

I think i have no postgreSQL folder, in order ton know this , I check, open Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal and i type this command in and paste the output here to you:
ps auxw | grep -i postgres

The result is : Lecasque 752 0,0 0,0 2432768 608 s000 R+ 11:09 0:00.00 grep -i postgres

NB: "Lecasque" is my old name of user

What would suggest you to me, in order to truly work this soft? :(

Thanks to you, for your future help ;)

Just do the installation then - it looks like PostgreSQL isn't installed. So just follow the installation part of that guide.
