That feature doesn't exist yet for OS X.

Is there a particular mac / postgres reason for this i.e does postgres.conf look or operate very differently on a mac?

A client is suffering poor PT performance on their mac and it is pretty straight forward to tweak the PC conf file (and that is obviously what the auto-tine function does in PT4 app). Having little mac experience, I don't want to go and change all the settings and find that there is something about the way mac works with postgres.

The sysctl.conf file may also need to be edited depending on the changes you make -- specifically to shmmax and shmall. It's a matter of the way that our system interacts with the appropriate files. These features are planned it's just not as easy to set up for OS X as it might seem. But we will get to it.
