hi,
i had some problems with my mac recently and had to delete everything and reinstall everything one by one to isolate an issue.
when i reinstalled pt4 and postgresql i installed postgresql version 9, all my data/hands are currently backed up on an external hard drive (postrgres version 8.4) and i have no idea how to get them back on to pokertrtacker.
please help!

If you made a backup using PT4's Backup system you should be able to just restore it in PostgreSQL 9.0 and have no problems.

just to clarify, so i backed up everything from my mac to an external hd, now i have no idea where to find my pt4 files, or how to integrate them into a new database. they seem not to exist anywhere. where should i be looking to find them on my backed up HD?

If you only copied files to an external drive (rather than making and restoring an image of your original drive) then you're unlikely to be able to recover your databases directly, but if you copied your hand history files then you will be able to re-import those.
By default your hand history files would have been moved to the Processed folder, which is normally:
/Users/yourname/Documents/PokerTracker 4/Processed
If you have a copy of that folder then you can import it using Get Hands From Disk.
