I am new to using a Mac. I used to have Hold Em Manager 2 for PC, but when I switched to my MAC I bought Poker Tracker 4. My O/S is : Mac 10.10 Yosemite

When i tried to install it i got as far as the "Configure PostgreSQL Database" but when I tried to create the data base i encounter the following error message;

Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT4 DB
Reason: Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?

What can I do to remedy this?

Please try installing PostgreSQL 9.3 manually then as explained here and then you should be able to connect.
