Hey,

I travel a lot, so what do I set timezone in this file /Library/PostgreSQL/9.3/data/postgresql.conf to so that it uses the same timezone as my computer?

Thanks

Yes I know how to add the specific time zone I am in, but do I have to do this every time I travel to a new country? Is there no way for it to be set to follow my time clock on my mac?

Thanks

As detailed in that guide this is how PostgreSQL works in versions 9.2 onwards where the time zone is established when PostgreSQL is installed. Prior versions of PostgreSQL use the operating system timezone so installing an older PostgreSQL (e.g. 9.0) would be the only way to have it follow the time on your Mac. Another thing you could try is to create copies of the postgresql.conf file for the timezones you travel to and then you can substitute the file as and when required without the editing by just renaming the one you need to use.
