Postgres error

Difference:
I do have postgres and some logs.

Last things said in the big file:

2015-12-01 16:54:24 CET CONTEXT: COPY cash_hand_summary, line 1
2015-12-01 16:54:24 CET STATEMENT: COPY cash_hand_summary FROM STDIN;
2015-12-02 11:45:07 CET LOG: received smart shutdown request

the ONLY things said in the small file:

2015-12-02 11:45:07 CET LOG: autovacuum launcher shutting down
2015-12-02 11:45:09 CET LOG: shutting down
2015-12-02 11:45:09 CET LOG: database system is shut down

What output do you get when you run this command in Terminal:
ps ax | grep -i postgres

?

It looks exactly like this:

Ok, so PostgreSQL is not running. Open Console - do you see errors for PostgreSQL listed?

Seems something abnormal is going on over here!

The easiest thing to do to try to fix it is just to uninstall and reinstall PostgreSQL as explained in this guide - just don't delete your data folder and your data will not be harmed.
