Hands not importing/ "stop getting hands" issues

Postby zachg » Sat Jan 28, 2017 12:59 pm

Hello,

Since rebuilding custom cache, and doing housekeeping, I've been having numerous issues with PT4. Firstly, I should mention that I've gone through all settings and nothing has changed. My hand histories are being saved to the correct folders, and PT4 is detecting these folders.

When I attempt to "get hands "( during a session or after a session), PT4 is showing in the "view import status" that these files are being detected however hands are not being imported. There are no error logs or anything indicating what the issue is. My HUD is also not appearing and I can't seem to figure out why. In addition, when I attempt to "stop getting hand" a process that at most takes 3-4 minutes, takes hours. The application isn't frozen however the process has been going on for over 4 hours now and no hands are being imported. Every time I force quit the program, the same thing occurs. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Instead of rebuilding the custom cache you can try a full cache rebuild. In PokerTracker 4 click "Database -> Database Management", click your database then "Rebuild Cache -> Full Cache Rebuild". Be prepared for this to take a considerable amount of time if you have a large database, so you'll want to run it when you're not using PokerTracker 4 for a while (such as overnight maybe). Make sure that your computer does not power itself off or go to sleep while it's running or you will need to run it again from the start. If that does not help then please open a Support Ticket with a PokerTracker4.log file that's recorded the trouble so that we can investigate that for you.

Update: My database has been reindexing now for 115 hours! Any idea how much longer this is going take? My database is about 50 GB.

That's a large database so I'd expect that to take days to complete if your PostgreSQL isn't on an SSD. If you have a HDD what speed is it? 5400 or 7200 rpm? If you look at your activity monitor is PostgreSQL still active?
