Microgaming (MGN) support

Hi!
The documentation mentions that Microgaming does not have a Mac OS X compatible client:
https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4 ... patability

However I'm playing on GUTS, which I believe is a MGN skin, and it works on mac! https://www.guts.com/gb/poker
It's using WINE.

The MGN option does not appear in "Configure Sites" of PT4. Can it be added?
Cheers
Hugues

The Microgaming clients we've installed on Mac don't have the GameHistory.dat hand history file there, or anything else that suggests hand histories. If you do see any hand history files being saved in your Microgaming client then send us those files in a Support Ticket.

The file is at:
/Applications/Guts Poker.app/Contents/Resources/wineprefix/drive_c/Microgaming/Poker/gutspokerMPP/GameHistory.dat

The client has the HandHistory option and I can browse them.
However if I export them from the client, the resulting text file misses some items, such as the amounts and currency sign. Probably something wrong with the encoding and/or cross platform.

Support contacted (I just wrote is for documentation purposes).
Thanks!

GameHistory.dat is a proper sqlite3 file, and it does hold a sensible data structure.
But it's empty! (At 3Kb it's not that surprising)
So where is the data?

The Microgaming Mac client is still not saving hand histories. Microgaming have also decided not to provide full hand histories on Windows so if you plan on playing on a Windows machine you'll want to refer to this thread also.

Hi,

I found the saved hand histories on my Mac. Actually Microgaming have been saving the GameHistory.dat for quite a long time for the installed Mac-clients, all the way back to autumn 2016 at least. I copied the files out from my Mac and imported them to PT4 on my virtual Windows computer. The files was imported with no errors and worked with both Guts, Betsafe, Betsson and Nordicbet.

So I guess it now would be possible to implement the feature to the PT4 for Mac?

The hand histories is saved in these locations:

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/com.betsafe.mpn.BetsafePokerMPP.wine/drive_c/Microgaming/Poker/Betsafe PokerMPP/GameHistory.dat
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/com.betssonpoker.mpn.BetssonPokerMPP.wine/drive_c/Microgaming/Poker/Betsson PokerMPP/GameHistory.dat
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/com.gutspoker.mpn.GutsPokerMPP.wine/drive_c/Microgaming/Poker/Guts PokerMPP/GameHistory.dat
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/com.nordicbet.mpn.NordicbetPokerMPP.wine/drive_c/Microgaming/Poker/Nordicbet PokerMPP/GameHistory.dat

Of course the Library folder in the user folder is a hidden folder. To view hidden files/folders in MacOS simply open the Terminal and write the following command:

defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE;killall Finder

Cheers

Oscar

I forgot to mention that the .dat file still contain the tournament history only. Like the hand history in the Windows-client.

That's really useful - thanks for letting us know. I've passed this information on to the development team and if you want a notification should we be able to add auto import support for MPN on Mac please open a Support Ticket.

FYI these files will import into the Mac version of PT4 now using Get Hands From Disk.
