Date filter does not work

Hi,
I have a large database and wanted to create notes for recent hands so i used filter for that to set the starting date to August 1st. Then i started the process of creating notes but it just hangs in place with hands per second at 0 and notes added at 0. This is not the first time i used filter function and found out that nothing is happening, but reporting just now.
