Downloading Ignition Hand Histories

Postby loveoftheb » Thu Jan 23, 2025 4:18 am

Because I am using a tracker to already get hands in real time, will downloading the hand histories cards up after 24 hours not work? I tried to download a couple hhs and it said it was complete, but I could not find the hands anywhere. I was looking at this link (https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT4 ... -histories), but I didn't really understand these last couple paragraphs about the anonymity of each player.

Where are you looking for the files you downloaded? By default Ignition will download hands to 'C:\Ignition\Hand History' (your Ignition software install folder) or 'C:\Users\{Windows Login}\AppData\Local'. You can also click on the 'Open File' button which replaces 'Available for Download' once a file has been downloaded. When this opens in your text editor you can use 'Save As' to see where the file is currently saved.

It's not possible to match the player names in grabbed and downloaded files so if you have imported hands via the hand grabber then you cannot import the downloaded version of those hands into the same database - they will be reported as duplicates and the import of the hands will be skipped. If you want to import downloaded hands you will first need to purge the grabbed hands that were imported:

Guide: Purging Sessions & Tournaments

Alternatively you can import downloaded Ignition hands into a separate database and review them there:
