postgres version 8.3 vs 8.4

Postby rowhousepd » Wed Jul 22, 2009 9:12 pm

I recently switched all my poker software from an Windows XP computer to a new Vista machine. I re-installed PT3 which automatically had me install postgres v 8.3.7. Everything works just fine, the old database was restored, etc. But I noticed that there's a newer version of postgres out there: v 8.4.

Is there any good reason to upgrade to this version over the good old 8.3? I don't want to fix what ain't broke. ;) ....that is, unless the performance is a LOT better. Thanks.

Performance is likely to be a little better but I haven't got any figures for you.
8.4 hasn't been thoroughly tested yet, though - I'm not aware of any problems and some people are using it so I'm sure it will be fine.
