Problem importing PS hand histories

Postby Ludwigo » Wed Jul 29, 2009 12:54 pm

Hi, untill now PT worked good.
Since this morning PT can't import PS.IT handhistories.

It appears this error message:
PokerStars: Unable to import hand (#31014620903). Reason: Unable to execute query: COPY tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics FROM STDIN;; Reason: Fatal Error (ERROR: invalid page header in block 2727 of relation "tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics" CONTEXT: COPY tourney_holdem_hand_player_statistics, line 1: "16359 1899 1899 23 14 316 2009/07/29 16:40:21 9 3 f f 0 f 1 f f f t f 0 f 0 f f f t f 0 f 0 f f f t ..." )

Can you help me?
Thanks

There are two main reasons for this kind of error. The first is a result of data corruption from a computer crash that requires reindexing your database. You can reindex your database from the PostgreSQL command prompt. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Command prompt. At the prompt that appears, type “reindexdb -a” and hit enter. Be aware that if you have large databases this may take a while, so be patient and wait for it to finish.
(If the re-index doesn't work because you are not logged in as user 'postgres' enter: "reindexdb -U postgres -a").

The second reason for this error is a result of faulty hardware. You can set PostgreSQL to ignore these errors by clicking Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Configuration Files --> Edit postgresql.conf. In the configuration file that appears, go to the bottom of the file and add the text “zero_damaged_pages = on” on a new line and then save and close the file. Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Reload Configuration and PostgreSQL will ignore the damaged data. If you continue to have problems with that hard drive, you should consider replacing it.

Thanks, probably is this kind of problem.
Only a question more...
In the command prompt, when I write “reindexdb -a” or "reindexdb -U postgres -a" the prompt ask me a password that I don't know and it's impossible to go on. What have I to do?
Thank you

The default password is dbpass.
If that doesn't work, you can remove the need for postgres passwords: How To: Remove PostgreSQL Password

It doesn't work.
I'm using the trial version, but I don't think it is the problem.
Any ideas?

OK, then try the second part of the suggestion, to turn zero-damaged-pages on.

That error suggests a problem in the database.
Try creating a new database (assuming you're registered, Database > Database Management > New) and see if the hands will import into that.
