It's possible you have a different version of postgres to me and that the edit option is in a different place but I think it should be there somewhere in the postgres folder via Start?
If not the file is probably in the "data" folder in postgres - use My Computer to browse to:
"C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data"
..or whatever path you have.
You can then edit the file from there (I'd suggest making a copy first, just in case; and please be careful to only edit the specified file).

Using the Database Management window select an existing database and Remove it (not Delete!) then use New > This Database Already Exists to link to it again, and give the correct password.

I still have my backup. Would it be easier to remove PT3 and Postgre, delete the files, and reinstall? Then, hopefully, it will just be a matter of restoring from the backup.

That should work as well, though you probably don't want to delete your StatisticsDefintiionsCustomized.pt3, ReportsDefinitionsCustomized.pt3 or Buddies.cfg or Layouts.pt3 files as those contain your custom stats, custom reports, PT3 buddies and HUD layouts, respectively. (All of those files are in the PokerTracker 3 directory tree.)

Sadly, that didn't work either. I saved the couple of files suggested, uninstalled PT3 and Postgre. Rebooted, and installed PT3. On startup I entered my registration, and it went to a "Configure PostgreSQL Server" popup, asking for 4 items: Server (populated with "localhost"), Database User ("postgres"), Port ("5432") and Password. I tried both dbpass and svcpass for password. On clicking "Connect", with either password I get the message: "Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration."

It doesn't seem to have installed postgre. The "Configure PostgreSQL server" window does offer: "Need PostgreSQL Installed? Click Here!". So I clicked that. It returns the error message: "Please use the main MSI file to install PostgreSQL".

And that's where I am now.

Follow the steps of this FAQ and that will remove the need for a password and anything you put in that box will be accepted.

The installation of postgres probably failed because you didn't fully uninstall postgres - please follow the steps in the following guide carefully; you need to FULLY uninstall postgres in order to be able to re-install it.
How to reinstall Postgres

If you continue to have problems you can schedule a remote assistance session where someone can logon to your computer with you and directly troubleshoot/resolve the issue.

The first instruction of the referenced guide tells me to go to the control panel and using Add or Remove Programs to delete Postre, but PostGre isn't listed. I used this method to delete it yesterday.

I'll schedule the live session.
