8.3.4 installed with PT3 => postgresql-8.3.8-1.zip http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/binary/v8.3.8/win32/ by running "UPGRADE.bat"

(i did the same on my computer, 8.3.6 => 8.3.8-1 pgInstaller, but my postgreSQL installation was from the official installer and works fine)

edit: everything works in slow motion on his computer now, but i cant see anything that uses cpu or disc activity when checking processes and performance monitor.

we both have win xp 32bit

Dont know what happen there but now seems to be fixed:

- i tried to stop service: "Start\Program\PostgreSQL 8.3\Stop service" but the processes where still there and everything was superlaggy
- i checked in control panel/services: it said stopped, but still the postgres.exe processes were there....
- i killed all postgres.exe processes,and rebooted, and now it seems to be ok

it was rebooted several times before, seems like service start hanged somehow and i needed to kill all those postgres.exe:s...

Much better, indeed :D

I'll make sure to suggest to others that after upgrading they make sure to reboot their computer.

as i said: It was rebooted several times without any effect at first. Server wasn't controllable via "stop service". I had to kill all postgres.exe:s manually and after that it seems postgres server finally started normally(set to "service start manually" first). After that worked i set it back to: "service start auto" and rebooted again.

Hello,
I did install PostgreSQL 8.4.1.1 using the one-click Enterprise installer with no problems. PT3 is working just fine.

Prior to installing 8.4.1.1., I updated 8.3.0 to 8.3.8 using the UPGRADE.BAT, also with no problems.

So all is fine with my system.

Glad to hear it. Just now that you're using that installer you do need to continue all upgrades via the enterprise installers otherwise you will experience problems.
