Sorry if this was already addressed elsewhere in the forums, but I couldn't find anything similar...
I had to do a system recovery on my laptop, so I couldn't properly export my database files to move them. I was able to rescue the hhdb.mdb, ptrack.mdb and ptrack2.mdb files from my HD before it got wiped (thank god!). So from the documentation, it looks like I need only to overwrite the existing files of the same name in the PTv2 file folder to be able to see my old HH's/tourney results. Right at startup it gives an error saying that someone else is trying to access the db file, but allows me to open the ptrack.mdb file (but NOT the hhdb.mdb file if I tell it to use that one explicitly - so I guess it is the initial hangup). I can then open my tournament stats (which all look as expected) and edit MTT summaries, but I can't see individual hand histories... so I suppose that's what hhdb.mdb contains.
Just as I write this, it occurs to me that I think I got the new registration code and entered it after emailing the product ID to support last night (ran as Admin on Vista machine) BEFORE I moved the .mbd files to the PTv2 folder. I'm not positive that I did it in that order, but I'm pretty sure I did. So that may explain the user conflict. I suspect I may need to just reinstall the program, move the .mdb files, THEN request a new registration code.
In case it helps, here's the exact error message that pops up right away when I open PTv2: "The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time". It then moves to a login screen where it lets me choose the other database (ptrack.mdb). I never had to login when using the program on my previous install and I always just used the "my first poker tracker poker database".
Thanks for your help!
Dan
