fun reinstalling windows

Postby slikrik » Thu Mar 27, 2008 10:10 pm

Hmm, not totally for sure it's PT3's fault but right after the install, I started importing hands from a directory when it froze up. I shutdown, manual using the button, and it wouldn't reboot... No bootable drive. The next day it reboots but it's all messed up.. Again I'm not sure it was this application but it is very coincidental if it wasn't. Anyone else have any issues?

I would guess it's some sort of corruption of the hard drive. Doubtful anything PT3 did caused it.

[color=#FF0000fca]no clunking noices[/colorfca], that sounds like your hard drive is going. had that problem once one day it was done. backup a soon as you can get a new hd.

There isn't any noices coming from the HD. I've had hardrives go bad alot of times there are noices, this insn't doing that. Most definately the machine locked up because of the import, that was the only thing running. Quite possiblly the OS issue was be cause I had to power down with the power button and wasn't able shut down properly. I'm just saying I was doing a folder import of quite a few files and it locked up. Something to look at.

A corrupt hard drive doesn't necessarily mean it's defective mechanically. PT3 does nothing out of the ordinary in its import routine and this has never happened to anyone else, so it's extremely unlikely this is related whatsoever to PT3.
