Now I get the following message:

"Internal account lookup failure: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done."

Are you changing the account domain field? Leave everything set to the default and change just the account name from postgres to postgres2.

Hi,

Had a complete motherboard meltdown ... in process of re-installing applications ... go to 'PostgreSQL' and lost in the jungle.

1. I install all poker software on a non-C Drive; called 'F' in this case,

2. I still need to be on PTv2 for various reasons and Pat had advised me to stay with Post v.8.2.13 for now until go to PTv2,

3. Keep getting the 'already have this user' and, if I get past that, rarely, have gotten the 'no mapping' error message.

4. I have done everything to try to uninstall Post 8.2.13 but, no listed in Add/Remove; no folder created in Start Menu; even tried Revo Uninstaller and it did not find it either, so

5. changed 8.2.13 folder name (after backing up 'data' folder) and NTUser to Old-NTUSer; and

6. did a search of C and F drive for anything and found a folder in Docs and Settings I moved to desktop; no change, same errors

7. when installing 8.2.13 changed Acct Domain to something non-postgresql; same error message, and

8. tried diff SuperUserName and then got those error messages for that

I give up ... how do I do a completely clean install of 8.2.13 or ... ??

Thanks.

Start > Run - type CMD to open DOS window.
Type:

net user postgres /delete

hit ENTER.

Pat,

Hi ... the delete ntuser command seemed to work for getting past that error message but, now I get the following message:

"Internal account lookup failure: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done."

Ideas?

Thanks.

I did a Google search and one suggestion was to manually create the "postgres" user account before trying to install PostgreSQL.

from the same DOS window type:

net user postgres password /passwordreq:yes /PASSWORDCHG:no /add

The word "password" will be the password, you can change it if you want but it doesn't need to be a strong password for this user.

Pat,

Thanks, again, for the extra effort.

Yes, using the DOS command to create 'postgres' did the trick! Back on track.
