Problem after installing Vista Service Pack 2

Postby bonak_shed » Thu Oct 29, 2009 3:28 am

Hi,

I just installed Vista Service Pack 2 and now Poker Tracker Stud doesn't start. I get the message "pts.exe has stopped working" error when trying to load it.

I've restored the system to before the Service Pack 2 install and all is fine again.

Anyone else installed Vista service Pack2? If so, did you experience problems with Poker Tracker 2 afterwards?

If no problems were experienced I may try the Service Pack 2 install again.

I've never heard of this specific issue. You can try reinstalling PTS after installing the service pack. If you do that and your product ID changes, create a new support ticket to get a new code:

Mike,

I installed Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 again and got the same problem.

I downloaded and re-installed PTS but get the same problem ... i get the "pts.exe has stopped working A problem caused the progam to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

It doesn't notify me it just closes down.

I get the same if I run PokerTracker 2. Strange thing is that Poker Tracker Omaha still works though.

Is Poker Tracker Omaha different in anyway from the other two?

Looks like I will have to restore back to service pack 1 again.

For now that would be the best solution. PTO uses a different copy protection program than the other PT2 programs use, so that may be incompatible with the service pack you are installing.
