Well its 12h30min and its updating cache. Its going to finish probably by the time I wake up, but still would appreciate it if someone would have a look to see whether everything is set up the way it should be.

Please create a Support Ticket with a detailed description of what problems you are experiencing and one of support representatives will contact you. Were you running PokerTracker with logging enabled when you were updating the cache?

Unfortunately I do not know if I had it enabled, and cant check it while the housekeeping is still going on.

I know that I get a log file when PT3 crashes, and logs are created in the "logs" file of every manual or auto import so maybe its enabled? Will fill out the form.

I'm sorry but I don't use Skype.

The reason I asked was that most of the people reporting these sorts of slowdowns are using 8.4; it's the new version and we have not fully tested to make sure there are no PT3 related specific problems in the new version of PostgreSQL. We do know that 8.3.8 works just fine though.

With regards to the logs, if you restart PT3 using the Logging Enabled link on your start menu (after housekeeping finishes), then use PT3 until you get a crash, you can follow this tutorial to get us all of the information we require.

Might be a silly question but what if PT3 doesnt crash any time soon? Like.. in the next week or two. I have only had it crash twice until now and I have logs for that. Man I wish I knew more about computers :P

Well, if you want to report on the slow import time, just run an import and send us logs of that event; logs are generated in real time when you are running PT3 with logging enabled.

Of course, if you want us to fix a crash, we'll need logs of the crash.

Right I got confused. Thought I had to wait for a crash to get you guys logs on the import :P Ill try to import like 100k hands to a new database which I can later delete as it will mostly be the same hands that I already have in the other databases.

Well I just started importing 100K into a new database, and its importing at 100h/s instead of the 15h/s which it took for the 1mil. I guess its just a lot faster when the database is completely new. I remember that the first 500k that I imported into that database (which was new at the time) took much quicker in the beginning and slowed down at the end too. Now that i imported 1mil more into that same database it didnt go above 20h/s. Housekeeping took long too though.

WIll send the logs when its done

Thanks. The speed is known to decrease but it shouldn't be nearly that drastic.

I sent the ticket with a copy of the pokertracker log. This 100k import took a very short period of time. It was 100h/s in the beginning and then fell to like 50h/s after a while and I didnt get to see how fast it was after that because I left the PC alone.

The housekeeping process finished quickly too, which is odd as 1 mil took like 19h for 1 mil yet 100k took like 1h total.

Should I send you a copy of the log too?

This is my full setup:
AMD Athlon x2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.21GHz
Inno3D 7950gx2
2GB ram

Its not the newest, but its definitely not crap so it should run the database software ok.
