Hi,
i have recently changed a new laptop and am intending to transfer my existing dbs (2 of them) on the old one to an external usb drive, which will store all db for pt3 thereafter. just got a few quick qns:
1. i intend to keep all db hereafter on the external drive, can i backup the existing db on the old com and restore it on the new laptop without having it written on the laptop HDD but on the external drive instead? if it is possible how do i go around doing it, any specific steps to take while installing pt3 and postgresql on the new laptop?
or will it be simpler to copy the processed HH from my pt3, create new db on the on the external drive and import it directly to the location?
2. will running active db on an external usb drive slow my hud or pt report in any way compared to running it on a local disk?
Thanks in advance
edit: will only be using the new laptop from here now, not intending to use external drive as hotswap db server, just saving local disk space on the laptop for all non-poker stuff.
