[quote="christrider"0xy]Hey,

I have PostgreSQL installed and running fine and I created a new bottle to run PT3 from, but when I click on PT3 to run the program it says that PT3 is not supported by my version of Windows and that i need to download a newer version of PT3. Any help to get me past this point so i can run PT3 would really be appreciated.

Thanks[/quote0xy]

ok try installing pt3 by "intalling software" in the crossover app, and then creating a new "custom" bottle. you will have the option to make the bottle thru 98, 2000 or xp...select xp and that should get you past that issue....i have a question for you: how did you setup postgreSQL?! I'm having issues I don't know how I know when its set up, I don;t understand this database thing-- and also which pt3 did you download, the version without PostgreSQL? everytime i try that one i can never get very far I think because my database isnt connected or something... thanks

Thanks for your help man, I got it running. As for your question, I used the version without PostgreSQL and it worked for me. Not too sure about the problem your having, when it asked me to set it up in PostgreSQL I just typed in the password dbpass and from there it worked. I dont really understand how the program works or runs tho, sorry I cant be of more help.

[quotemjd]Third, you will need to install Postgresql on your mac. This may be for intels only again, but I am not sure. I got it here: http://www.postgresqlformac.com/ and I downloaded the 8.2.5 unified installer.

Unzip and run the POSTGRESQL .PKG you downloaded , fairly self explanatory. There are readme's as well in the package after you open it. Go to the /Server folder and run the file in there, and it will do an automated install of postgreSQL, and then install Client Tools if you want. [/quotemjd]

This is what I did exactly. hope it helps

I made Poker Tracker to run under Mac using Darwine.
But it doesn't work totally. the auto import doesn't work and if you import a file two times, it crashes Poker Tracker.
I didn't try everything, I will report any new stuff about pokertracker under Darwine.

Great job

how did you create the database? ive done all the steps your described but if iam trying to create the database from the pt3 menu iam getting the following message:
"Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT3 Beta DB1
Reason: Unable to execute query: CREATE DATABASE "PT3 Beta DB1" WITH TEMPLATE = template0 ENCODING = 'SQL_ASCII';; Reason: Fatal Error (ERROR: template database "template0" does not exist )"

postgresql for mac is installed and running, as you said...

Everything seems to install fine. When it prompts me to enter a password, I enter "dbpass". It says "Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration.

So I try running the "Create Database" tool or the "Create User" tool in the PostgreSQL folder.
I leave the defaults (localhost, 5432, postgress) and enter "dbpass"
But it hates me. and says:

"Database Connection failed. could not connect to server: Connection refused. Is the server running on host "localhost" and acceping TCP/IP connections on port 5432?"

I don't know what this means. Any help?

One more thing I tried:

The Service Manager in the PostgreSQL folder...

The Current Status is "Down"
I can change none of the parameters which are set to Servers: "(localhost)" Services: "PostgresSQL"

The Refresh button does nothing. If I click the Start button, it prompts me for my admin password, then does nothing.

This all seems to me to be a problem with PostgreSQL for Mac, not crosover.

Any help? Thanks

Do I need to have the Full Tilt Poker's Windows-version if I want to auto import hands to my pt? I have the mac version but I use the PT with CrossOver. PT3 doesn't seem to recognize Full Tilt's software to been installed on my mac.

And by the way...when is PT3 coming to mac? What about the PA HUD?

I'll let someone who has PT3 on mac with crossover answer the one question, but as to the other: We're hoping it's possible to start development on the Mac version of PT3 before the end of fall, though it may take longer than that at this point. When PT3 comes to the Mac, the PT3 HUD will as well.

I have been getting a lot of PM's asking if this still worked, so I went through and tried it again. I still had the exact same install I had in the original post.

With crossover, it still worked with zero problems. All I did was download the latest retail version of PT3, and load it up with Crossover.

I also tried Darwine, which may be a better solution for those who don't want to buy crossover. It loaded up PT3 just fine, but was a bit too processor heavy for my macbook.

Glad I tried it again because I hadn't even bothered figuring it wouldn't work...but it does! There is no HUD support yet, but oh well. This is good enough to carry me over until we have an actual mac release.
