Cannot set up Cereus 6 max layout

Postby cat923 » Wed Jan 06, 2010 1:13 am

I have used PAHUD for years. I hae not played on ABS or UB for a while prior to when they set up the network. I have my 6 max layout set up for PS and FTP and they work fine for me. I tried to export the PS layout to ABS and rearrange the stats in the layout manager. When they appear on the ABS table they bear litle resemblence to the layout manager.

The drop down menu with additional stats appear when I dont want it or really care to use it at all. The stats block the betting slide and make all betting awkward or slow or impossible. The drop downs do the same.

I have to disable PAHUD to play on ABS or UB whereas PS and FTP work great. I am using beta 19.10.4 which I believe is the latest.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Absolute Poker layout has changed and doesn't match the layout manager image any more - you can update the image used with a screenshot of the current table if you like (PAHud\Data\Images) but the 'hotspots' for the popup stats will still be incorrect and that can't be changed I'm afraid. You could disable the 'enable popup stats' option in Options > Preferences > General, though, if you like.

Alternatively you might want to try the 60 day free trial of PT3 which has a built in HUD and works well with Cereus (AP and UB).
PT2 will only be supported until the end of March.

I was an early customer of both Pat and Josh and I will gladly upgrade if the db movement which is postgre is simple and as usual Pat has provided his usual clear instructions. I probably purchased 4 or 5 PT2 from Pat for myself and as gifts for friends. I play microstakes now .5/.10 and .10/.25. Will the microstakes version accomodate my dbs and support these levels? Would I receive some sort of discount for the upgrade. The discount is of the least importance because of the high regard I have for Pat and Josh and the excellent support that they have provided over the years.

I am glad to know that I am not crazy having found problems with the HUD at ABS.

The microstakes version is good for any limits up to and including 25c NL or 25c/50c limit, and $11 buy-in tournaments, so should be fine for you and you will get a discount - see the FAQ for information.

If you go to the Purchase Page and Add To Cart it should show your discount. If not, you need to link your products on My Account -> My Orders
However, we recommend that you try the trial version first, as always.

You should be able to convert your database easily if it is postgres, using the PT3 menu > Database > Convert.
If there are any problems you can export the hand histories from PT2 and import them to PT3 anyway.

Give it a try and if you have any problems post in the PT3 section of the forum.

I downloaded PT3 in preparation to buy it and this is the first thing that I saw: Unable to begin feeder import process. Reason: PokerTracker is configured to import into an outdated database. This must be corrected before an import can succeed.
2010/01/06 15:36:07: PartyGaming: Found 0 files to monitor. I can't even play on Party.

This is exactly what I hoped to avoid. I spent most of the day yesterday trying to configure ABS 6 max when it cannot be configured. If I am going to be involved with PT3 and believe me the money means nothing to me I do not want to be aggravated I want a smooth transition from PT2 and PAHUD which I learned many years ago. I have lost a lot of grey cells since then. I can play at ABS without a HUD if necessary.

Please point me to a link which will help me out.

Do you already have postgres installed, or did you let PT3 install it?
If you already have it, what version is it?
Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> psql to 'postgres'. At the prompt type:
SELECT version();

PT3 needs 8.2 at least, but really 8.3 or 8.4 is recommended.
I assume you're using postgres with PT2/PAHud at the moment?

Backup the database via pgadmin, uninstall 8.0, at this point if you're going to the trouble, I'd say go all the way to 8.4 and install it, then restore the backup in pgadmin and that should be it.
