Importing emailed HHs w/o Outlook

Postby JooSToN » Sun Jan 24, 2010 11:23 pm

I'm trying to get my razz hand histories from pokerstars into PTS using the hand histories that stars emailed me. I downloaded the files onto my computer. When I try to auto import or manual import, it locks up (I've let it run for several hours). I've tried the same thing with FullTilt hands that were emailed to me, but to no avail. I know the emailed files are in a different format than the usual HHs that you can save to your computer. I don't have Outlook, I use yahoo mail. What's the secret?

Thanks
Justin

The secret is that you can't import those huge files that PokerStars sends. Save the text of the email to a .txt file using a program like Notepad. Then open PTS and use Utilities > File Splitter... to break the big file into multiple smaller files. If you don't do that step and just try to import the big file it will take forever and probably cause your computer to run out of memory.
After splitting the big file, move ONLY the smaller files to your PokerStars hand history folder. Then open the PokerStars auto-import window and click the Force Import button to import the hands. It may still take a while depending on how many hands there are so just let it run until it finishes.
