PostGreSQL ????

Postby korleone » Thu Apr 03, 2008 4:26 pm

I get this screen every time I try to open up PT3.
Well I can't seem to cut/paste the screen shot but anyways it says:

Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT3 Beta DB1
Reason: Unable to login to database (template 1) Reason: could
not connect to server: Connection refused (bunch of random numbers/letters here)
Is the server running on host"localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432

What the hell does this mean and how can I fix it?

It sounds like you don't have PostgreSQL installed. Download the version of PT3 that has PostgreSQL included, install it, and let it install PostgreSQL for you.

Okay I uninstalled and redownloaded and when it tried to install PostgreSQL on my comp there was a problem. I got a popup directing me to the follwing file : C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/tmp/initdb. Once I went to that file, there was a notepad document saying this: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail. So I clicked ok on the first popup (the one that directed me to the file) and it started uninstalling Postgre from my computer. I don't know if this makes any sense but maybe you can make something out of it. Thanks

Please see [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=790qmj]Attn: Vista Users Installing PostgreSQL 8.3[/urlqmj]. You will need to manually download and install PostgreSQL 8.2.7. If you have any trouble doing this or have any questions, please ask in the above thread and I will gladly assist you.

Best regards,
