Postgres service problem

Postby adrianus » Fri Apr 04, 2008 4:19 am

Hello. For some reason I have to restart PostgreSQL service before starting PT3 first time after computer startup. Otherwise PT3 hangs to "not respondig" state. This is quite weird issue because I had same problems with PT2 and PostgreSQL 8.2 too. Only difference was that PT2 gave me error message (couldn't connect to db). And more to come. This happens (and happebed with PT2 & PostgreSQL 8.2 too) with both of my computers (PC with Vista and laptop with XP).

Go Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services

Look for your 'PostgreSQL Database Server' process and double click it. Make sure that the startup type is set to 'Automatic'.

Service is starting automaticly and it seems like running normally. But PT3 won't work before PostgreSQL restart.

Hmmm. Can you send me the latest PostgreSQL log file via the [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/support/wb8]Support system[/urlwb8] so that I can look into the issue? Postgres log files are located under your main PostgreSQL directory /PostgreSQL/<version>/data/pg_log

Best regards,

Derek
