PostgreSQL error

Postby LightningLars » Sat Mar 06, 2010 12:49 pm

i get a message when i try to configure postgresql database.
It says " unable to create postgresql database: PT3 DB reason: Unable to login to database (template1) Reason: could not connect to server: connection refused 0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

if i click on"browse databases" i get this message: unable to login to database (template1) is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting tcp/ip connection on port 5432 ?

Im not that big pc freak so i dont know how to check my port..

Hope you can help me..

Have you had it working before or is this a new installation?

The first thing to do is reboot your computer - often problems with the postgres service can be fixed that way.

What operating system do you have?

PT3 should have installed postgres for you if it wasn't running when you ran it.
Which installer did you use?

Download and save, then run the Beta 30.7 installer.
If it still doesn't install postgres for you follow this guide: How to reinstall PostgreSQL

I'm glad to hear everything is working again - PT3 and PT2 should be able to coexist without any problems, but regardless it's good that you got everything working :)
