That's what TourneyLuck is for, but it just shows you chipwise your expected value, which is admittedly of questionable use given the changing value of tournament chips.

This tool is great, it shows if you put your money in good or not on average, and how much you lost/won because of un/luck. This helps to ease my mind during bad periods of time :)

been reading the graph threads. and I have to strenuously disagree with your statement.

You know how many MTT I play (A LOT) .... and frankly I don't care if i ever see a graph which reflects the "changing value of chips." In fact I'm not sure that you could even devise a function that would both be correct on the one hand (because there is no consensus on how to even do it) ... and even if there were it would be meaningless to most people anyway.

Most of us just want if we're running good or not and whether we tend to get it in good or bad.
CeV is going to be the most useful graph value for 99% of tourney graphs.

The only exception is I might want to look at an ICM-centric sort of thing if I were at a final table... but those are few and far between and a completely different beast.

$EV really only matters for maybe 1/2 of 9man SNG hands.... and < 1% of MTT hands that people are going to have in their DB's - and those 1% should be very late game hands where pokertracker won't even have the info on the payouts in order to be able to calculate things properly.

If you are trying to be more complex you are overthinking the situation and probably holding up useful things for the vast majority.....

I would agree that ICM or $EV analysis tools are superimportant - but apply mainly to SNG hands or specific situations in an MTT on the money bubble or at the final table (which we could consider a 9man SNG basically). People are not going to want to look at a graph for this anyway, they will want the detail on that scenario in specific - not in aggregate.

Just fix the existing graphs to work perfectly on a chip ev basis for any typ eof tourney.

Then build a different app function/feature for $EV/ICM. Like what SNG Wiz does.

But plz don't over-think this and hold up useful tools in the meantime. Just gimme CeV integrated into PT3. Then once thta is done figure out how to do ICM calculations for given hands. Only after that think about whether there is a need for a $EV GRAPH for MTT/SNG. I'd wager you something or other there is no clamor for that whtasoever.

I think PT3 tny development is getting hung up on the idea that we use some unknown theoretical construct that your userbase never even discusses.

If you get the database name from the Database Management window in PT3, the other settings will almost certainly be:
Server: localhost
Port: 5432
User: postgres
Password: dbpass

(the password might change if you've changed it though, that's our default installation password for PostgreSQL)
