HowTo: Working Tournament M Values + Get M Specific Stats

When you add a new column as needed for a new stat, the entire cache needs to be rebuilt in order to get the data for that new column. I suspect that what's going on here is that whatever is happening behind the scenes for this function takes a whole lot longer when going through every hand for every player - thus causing immense slowdown on the first cache update run. After that it only needs to update the data based on what's new - so it'll be a lot faster (and when you're playing, it's actually done after each hand is auto imported).

Ok. This can't be right. I never had to wait more than 40 minutes. I am only updating the cache, and it is still running after 24:26:00. How can I check that it didn't get stuck somewhere? I need to work!

If you look at Task Manager > Processes are any of the postgres.exe processes doing any work? If so, or if there is a lot of disk activity still going on then it is still working.
If you have logging enabled you can also check the end of the PokerTracker3.log file to see what stage it is at.

well, I lost it and stopped everything. I reinstalled SQL. I built a new db, imported the hands, and got to the updating cache part. The log file on sql is updating now, but keeps saying:

WARNING: there is already a transaction in progress

Is this normal? It has been running already for 46 minutes. And again, never took so long

Try rebooting your computer - it sounds like postgres is still doing something from your last run.
Be sure to Rebuild Cache rather than Update, that will be much faster for a new database.

Yes, it worked! I did have to re-install postgre and I created a new database. Now my log files are clean of erros
(I will have to start all the process again to set up the M, may be another day once I learnt more about SQL...I need to go back to my analysing my data now)

I've opened up pgadmin and am completely lost on how to do any of this. Any chance for some pictures or an easier description? I don't want to spend $50 on TableNinja if this is the only feature of it I would want.

Is there a simple way to add M and/or # of bb yet?

Such as importing the custom stat?

Will it be in future updates?

I have never done one of these custom stats for my HUD or have any clue about "this stuff" (ie programming languages, etc.)

At 1st glance these steps are pretty intimidating to someone who is a "computer dummy."

This is an extremely relevant statistic. Why is it available in HEM and not PT3? After bragging up PT for years now, ALL I keep hearing about are features that HEM has, that PT3 does not.

Help! please? I need these stats on my HUD asap.

There will be a simple way to add this statistic at some point, but it is not as simple to add as it may seem. At this point in time I don't know when this feature will become available.

All of this computer stuff is over my head, but I REALLY want M for my HUD.

Does any1 have the time to kinda "walk me through" this?
