I use a program called Secunia PSI, which identifies outdated programs which may pose a security risk. It lists PostgreSQL 8.3.9.9343 as a category 3 security risk, which they define as "a hacker may be able to use this program to gain access to your PC, but it will typically require user interaction."
I recognize that this is a remote security risk. But out of curiosity, I'm wondering when (or if) the people at PT plan on upgrading the version of postgresql that PT uses?
What reasons would there be to not use the latest version? Does it require extensive reworking of the PT program?
