OK, I'm going to send you a PM with direction on sending that file to me. I'll try to restore the databases.

I have some commitments for later so I might not get to this until tomorrow sometime.

What you uploaded what the PostgreSQL install files for version 8.2.6.

What I need is the ZIP file you made of your c:\program files\postgresql\8.2\data folder that I had you do in the first step in the previous post before you tried uninstalling and reinstalling PostgreSQL.

I'll check into it, I see it's a much larger file there now so it should be good.

Hey Pat i un/reinstalled PSQL and downloaded the DB's however when i go to PSQL settings i get the following

"unable to connect to postgreSQL to get the list of DB's
101 SQLSTATE = 10001
FATAL : password authentication failed for user postgreSQL"

This is most likely that the database server is not running on this port.

Did you edit the pg_hba.conf file like I mentioned and change the "MD5" text to say "trust"?

If you did, are you using Vista?

I don't know how it can be giving you that error then.

On the PostgreSQL Settings window, the user name should be "postgres" and not "PostgreSQL" but it really shouldn't matter if the config file has been changed.
