Many problems!

Postby omahakrazy » Tue Aug 31, 2010 9:55 am

Hi

I've recently bought and installed PT3 with postgresql on my laptop and all is fine.

After getting my desktop up and running i've downloaded PT3 with no issues but it wouldn't connect to postgre, everytime i opened PT3 it kept opening a dialogue box asking me to create a database, when i click on create it is unable to connect.

So i uninstalled Postgresql 8.3 and using your manual installation guide i'm trying to download 8.3.11-1 which is the latest version, however i'm now tearing my hair out because it gets to 99% downloaded then just freezes, i have reinstalled several times but the same thing happens.

I'm running windows vista

Please help!

We have had some reports of PostgreSQL not completing when downloaded through PT3, but if you download PostgreSQL 8.3.11 from here it should complete.

Hi thanks,i've got it to complete now and checked that its running ok in task manager.

However when i open PT3 i click on omaha 60 day trial and get a variety of error messages then a pop up box asking me to create a database which i do but it keeps coming up unable to connect! is this a PT3 issue or postgresql?

It sounds like a PostgreSQL issue but if you create a support ticket for this issue, one of our technicians will help you get everything sorted out.
