Error opening file for writing

Trying to download updated Beta PT3 and i get this error message all the time

Error opening file for writing:
C:\Program Files\Poker Tracker3\Poker Tracker exe

When I click ignore, it seems to extract the downloaded file, but it never works, just hows me that my old Beta copy is about to expire.

Any ideas what to do? Thanks

You'll need to close PT3 down before you install it

I tried closing it, but still no luck

Kill the process in TASK MANAGER.

I had to uninstall the previous version to get the new version to install.

Hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE to open your Task Manager, then under the 'Processes' tab, look for PokerTracker.exe. Right click -> End Process.

You can then proceed with installation.

I did the task manager procedure and still had to uninstall the previous version before this one would install. Using Windows Vista Basic.

Did the 'PokerTracker.exe' process disappear? It sounds like the process did not end...

Yep, had all disappeared just as if it had shut down completely.
