Increasing performance of the HUD

Postby JaspaJones » Thu Sep 09, 2010 8:08 pm

Hallo Guys. Im playing 24 Cash-Tables on Stars with my Notebook. It has 2GB-RAM. In the last time the HUD makes my computer work very slow. Its that annoying, that i had to switch it off completely. Imusing the following Stats: Name, Hands, VPIP, PFR, AF, Amount won, WTSD, W$SD, Contibet%, Fold to Contibet%, DonkbetFlop. I raised the number of hands were HUD gets acticated for each player from 10 to 100, but that does not seem to change anything. Any ideas how i can go on playing with my HUD without decreasing table-countings or Stat-Counting....

Ive allready tried to housekeep every 5k hands... It doesnt bring anything too

add more ram if you can. And make sure no unnecessary programs are using resources in the background...

You may be limited by your hard disk too. A lot of laptops have slower hard disks and that is the biggest bottleneck for database applications.

See the FAQ: PT3 HUD for optimization tips.

Thanks for the advice. I read the FAQ trough. Defragmentation (Im not sure if its right) runns every week automatically. I have 2 GB RAM. Any compareable Stats from other users? During my Pokersessions only runs Antivir-Programm from Avast!, SpybotSD, Pokerstars-Software and Tableninja. I will have a try just playing 10-15 tables with HUD. If necessary i have to quit Table-Ninja operating. I just tested another Pokertracker, called Elephant from Pokerstrategy.com and have to admit, that its as laggy as the Pokertracker. One more question: Can i improve the performance essentally while using less Stats in HUD? Former, i had mayor problems with the Sysmbols in cashgame. Now i use that many Stats, that i ask myself if it would bring anything to me just using VPIP; PFR and AF. I would like to have them all, maybe in my advanced Satts, when i click on the players name. Woudl that bring anything? Thanks for support!

What version of PT3 are you using? Have you looked at this thread?

I uninstalled Postgres to reinstall it for using the Tune, but now PT3 is unable to connect to database and gives me an error. Fuck! What did i do?

Did it reinstall successfully? You shouldn't need to reinstall PostgreSQL to install tuning wizard - you can get to the stack builder via the Start menu . . .

I did everything from step 1-11a. So i should uninstall postgres and reinstall it. But the main problem is, that i wasnt able tochose a database and i did not know what to tipe in the server gap. At the next page i tiped in the enterpriseDB user-name with password, but it said, that it wasnt able to connect, cause either name or password was invalid, but it was exactly the name/password i have chosen while registering and logging in on their website. Any idea? What should appear in the gap while chosing the database?
