Can not get translucency to work

I have 2 computers, I exported my profile from 1 comp to the other.
Everything was fine, except translucency didn't export (I assume it's not tied to the specific profile).
I want all my stats to be semi-translucent so I can see the mucked whole cards from the poker program (they show up a few seconds before PAHUD shows up).
I to to configure hud, and on the main "group" tab, in the bottom right hand corner i have it scrolled over to mostly "clear", I click "apply". nothing changes.
I have worked on this for about 3 hours

In the main PT3 window, click Settings - on the Performance tab, uncheck "Enhanced HUD Performance" - that checkbox is generally not necessary at this point in time due to other improvements and one of the things it does is disable translucency.
